New Farmer Houses

Lovely sightseeing objects of the museum are the New Farmer Houses called "Schildt" and "Riedel". Here the visitors can gain inside the living conditions of the new farmers of Tellow in the after-war-period. Moreover they can have a very close look of the livestock of  the Thünen-Museum.

 

 

Insight of the shed of the New Farmer House "Schildt"  there are an extensive connection of agricultural equipments of house and arable economics. It means an old machine for breaking flax, a beet-sow-machine, different press-machines, a woody bread-pastry-bowl, scythes and shoes for the coachman.

 

When visitors have a look inside of the kitchen, it may be that they would like catch the wooden spoon, because the room is so vitalized. The kitchen stove is in function, of course. So the visitors - especially if we have an event-day -   can follow how to cook or to bake old recipes, for example apple puree, waffles, jam or syrup.
